ENGLISH Andrea Arzaba, 31, is a multimedia journalist and storyteller. She was born in Mexico, and has lived in Mexico City, Madrid and Montevideo. She is currently based in Washington DC.
Journalism: Andrea has reported on various topics such as gender, immigration, climate change, culture and human rights. She has published her articles in outlets like National Geographic Traveler, Global Voices Online, Future Challenges, Proceso, Animal Politico. Excelsior, the European Journalism Center, Palabra, among many others. She is the founder of multimedia projects like Transformaciones (Georgetown University’s Latin American Studies publication) and The SunFlower Post (an international blog on gender issues).
She has also been a journalism fellow for Transparency International since 2012. She has given talks internationally about her experience covering climate change, women’s and indigenous issues and human mobility.
Communications: Andrea has worked as a communications consultant and researcher for organizations like Unesco, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs, and the Beeck Center for Social Innovation.
Travel: Andrea was selected as a young delegate for the Peace Camp International Program, the World Youth Congress (Quebec and Istanbul), and the Clinton Global Initiative in Austin, Texas. Later she travelled through Europe, Africa and South America, covering the United Nations Climate Talks from 2010 – 2013.

Education: Andrea holds a Master’s Degree in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University. in Washington DC. She also hold’s a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City. She was an exchange student at Universidad Complutense in Madrid.

Soy el fundador de la ONG VISIÓN SOLIDARIA, un grupo de Colombianos que trabaja en España y creamos una organización sin ánimo de lucro que tiene como objetivo principal desempeñar una labor humanitaria en las comunidades infantiles de Latinoamérica, en las poblaciones más desfavorecidas por sus condiciones socio-económicas y en aquellas en que por su situación, no puedan acceder a los servicios del Sistema de Seguridad Social de sus países, especialmente de Colombia, Guatemala, México y Ecuador.
